I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma City University in the spring of 1999. In the fall of that year, I started my teaching career at Westwood Junior High in Richardson, Texas and then spent the next two years at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Texas. In 2002, I accepted the position here at Ranchview High School. The orchestra program has grown over the past four years from 24 to over 60 string players.
While at Ranchview, the orchestras have won multiple UIL and festival awards. I am a frequent guest clinician, adjudicator of concert, sight-reading and solo/ensemble contests as well as All-State Tape and Chair Auditions. In the summer, I teach at the University of Texas at Arlington Summer Strings Camp and the Oklahoma City University Double Bass Camp. In 2005, SBO Magazine named me as one of the 50 directors from the United States who "Make a Difference".
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy golfing, ice hockey and spending time with my wife Elizabeth.
